Kli is building a true luxury house from India. We work with leather, brass, and cultural symbolism to create heirloom-quality objects. Our silhouettes are sculptural, our details are precise, and our craft is rooted in Indias 5,000-year heritage. This is a design-first house, and were looking for a designer who works at the intersection of geometry, material, and meaning. Explore us: www.kaliindia.com Your Role Youll lead design execution from sketch to sample, collaborating with artisans and vendors to bring every line and detail to life. Youll also help define and implement production processes and QC standards across materials and vendors. Responsibilities include: Design handbags and accessories using leather, metal, and mixed materials Create tech packs, CADs, BOMs, and costing sheets Specify stitch-per-inch, thread types, reinforcements, and edge treatments Develop cutting dies and wooden moulds for structured silhouettes Select leathers, linings, hardware, and internal materials Oversee prototyping, material testing, and finishing corrections Build and document QC parameters for leather, structure, and finishing Work closely with vendors on-site in Kolkata and other cities Conduct inspections for stitch quality, edge paint, alignment, and reinforcement Track all versions, changes, and costing in Excel and design decks Who You Are Based in Kolkata, with 5 to 10 years of leather accessory design experience Expert in material properties: skiving, finishing, structure, hardware Skilled in stitch detailing, thread selection, and reinforcement techniques Experienced with cutting dies, wooden moulds, and structured bag making Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, CAD tools, CorelDRAW (preferred), and Excel Organised, numbers-literate, and able to implement structured design and QC systems Curious about Indian crafts, sacred geometry, symbolism, and design as a cultural lens Comfortable working hands-on with artisans and suppliers on the floor Aware of global luxury construction standards and finishing quality Why Join Kli Define the design DNA of a new global luxury house Build iconic products rooted in India, designed for the world Own the journey: from sketch to product to store Work directly with the founder and global creative partners Shape quality processes that will scale with the brand See your work in Paris, NYC, Monaco, and beyond,
