Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Business Analyst for Reporting and Analytics role in Ameriprise Bank (BCS Analytics). As a Lead Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in developing Power BI dashboards, creating complex SQL queries to extract metrics from various data sources, and providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making. You will serve as the primary liaison between the Technology Organization, Businesses, and internal teams while also maintaining and enhancing the existing reporting structure by introducing automation where feasible. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and implementing sophisticated Power BI solutions that encompass ETL processes, data models, interactive dashboards, visualizations, and reports that effectively convey key performance indicators and insights. Additionally, you will be involved in creating Excel reports and implementing automation strategies, utilizing advanced data aggregation techniques to summarize data from multiple sources, and ensuring adherence to best practices related to Power BI service. To excel in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Analytics, or a related field along with 5-8 years of experience in data management and reporting. You must possess a strong background in analytics, problem-solving skills, and a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI, Advance DAX functions, and Dashboard designing. Proficiency in SQL/PostgreSQL/AWS Datalake for data manipulation, ad-hoc Queries, and Star Schema design is essential. Moreover, you will be expected to conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement or business growth. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, optimizing data models and queries for performance and efficiency, and documenting business and technical processes are also part of your responsibilities. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, capable of working independently and in a team environment, possess a high sense of urgency, and adapt well to changing environments. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration with stakeholders. Experience in Python or any other programming language, knowledge of SAS and VBA, and familiarity with AWS stack are considered advantageous.
