Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate conventional lathe machines for turning, facing, threading, and other machining operations. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job instructions. Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters for efficient machining. Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges. Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements as per specifications. Perform routine maintenance of lathe machines and ensure cleanliness of the work area. Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions and take corrective actions. Follow safety practices and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain production logs, work records, and report any issues to the supervisor. Collaborate with quality and maintenance teams for continuous improvement. Key Skills & Competencies: ITI in Turner/Machinist or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 35 years of experience in operating lathe machines (manual or semi-automatic) Strong understanding of machining practices and shop floor processes Ability to work independently and produce quality components Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality standards Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting Preferred: Experience in toolroom or precision machining environments Exposure to CNC lathe (basic understanding is a plus) Familiarity with ISO 9001, 5S, and safety protocols in machining Teamwork, discipline, and time management skills Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person,
