Job Description
As an Intermediate Application Developer at UPS in Chennai, you will be part of a global logistics leader providing a wide range of solutions including transportation, distribution, supply chain management, and e-commerce. You will specifically work with the UPS Track Alert API team to enhance the tracking experience for customers and third parties, reduce system load, and monetize tracking services. Your role involves participating in the full systems life cycle management of UPS.com Track Visibility applications, requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Collaboration with teams, support for emerging technologies, and effective communication are key aspects of this position. Experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable web applications following the SAFe Agile methodology using Azure DevOps is essential. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and maintain Java Spring Boot based Restful Web Services, implementing microservices-based solutions for scalability, and ensuring high availability and security of OCP4 and GCP hosted solutions. You will participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies, utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline setup, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers. Troubleshooting technical issues, adhering to coding standards, and implementing best practices across frontend and backend systems are crucial aspects of your role. Primary skills required for this position include proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, AMQ, WMQ, Kafka, Apache Camel, JSON, XML, OpenShift, Google Cloud Platform, Azure DevOps, Restful Web Service Client/Server Development, Microservices Architecture, and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design. Additionally, experience in unit testing, integration testing, API management, application performance optimization, SAFe Agile Framework, and collaboration tools like Git and IntelliJ are beneficial. Qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, proven experience in web service development, understanding of cloud-native application design, and strong problem-solving abilities for technical discussions. Exposure to containerization technologies, knowledge of Code Quality Inspection Tools, and soft skills such as effective communication, time management, and interpersonal skills are advantageous.
