Job Description

MRU HSE

Develop, timely review & ensure implementation of Safe operating procedures for effective EHS management system.

     Working and maintaining communication with various departments to provide technical support on, Machine Safety, Process Safety Management, Chemical Safety and Environment Management.

     Implementing Safety during activities like Height Work, Hot Works, Mechanical / Manual Liftings, Warehouse & Chemical Safety Management

     Chemical Safety Management in terms of chemical exposure as Safety & Fire/ Explosion Hazards, Like VOCs, Hydrogen, Ammonia, various acids, HSD.

     Supporting Management in finalization of EHS Goals and Objectives based on prevailing trends.

     Proving support in preparing various policies related to Health Safety & Environment

     To organize in association with the concerned departments, campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of the workers in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedures

     Partakes in Management of change process, HIRAC, HAZOP Studies.

     Participating in Establish, implement, maintain and review EHS objectives and programs including responsibility, authority, means & time frame at all relevant functions and levels. 

     Provide necessary resources to EHS Head for management, performance of work & verification activities. 

     Conduct review meetings, internal audits to monitor and measure EHS performance, incident investigation, nonconformities and its corrective & preventive action status. 

     Apprise the management about EHS status & help formulate appropriate policies for continual improvement.

      Assisting in Standardizing PPE & Safety Devices, identify and develop approved vendors

     Fire Risk Management and Maintaining Fire Fighting system at Plant

     Ambient Environment measurement, air, water noise, Management of Waste

     Submission of forms / returns to government / legal bodies

EHS Reporting

     Report EHS status of plant/ site to HQ & HOD- EHS by compiling statistics/ MIS 

     Reporting legal requirements status to HQ. 


Training & Awareness Campaigns 

     Organize campaigns, competitions & other special emphasis programmes to promote EHS at workplace. 

     Assisting in Imparting of EHS Orientation to fresh Trainee Engineers and New Joinees, so as to enable them to discharge EHS responsibilities successfully.

     Preparing training modules, training plans and coordinating for delivery of training sessions for Management to Workmen level.

     Imparting refresher training at regular interval

     Imparting EHS training for Project personnel including Contractors on various high risk activities like, height works, hot works, confined spaces etc.

     Creating EHS awareness by organizing campaigns like, National Safety Week, Fire Service Day, Environment Day, Safety Quiz, Safety speech, safety slogans.



Fulfillment of Legal Requirements

     Updating departments on recent developments EHS legal requirements to avoid legal issues, maintaining legal register.

     Reporting of statutory data to legal bodies like Factory Inspector, Fire Dept., Pollution control board.

     Ensuring fitness and certification of various equipments like, lifting gears/ appliances, pressure vessels, etc.


Incident Investigation & EHS Audit

     Investigation & analysis all serious incidents / dangerous occurrences & recommend preventive actions at sites. 

     Preparing & sharing incident lesson learnt and alerts

     To check and evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken to prevent reoccurrence.

     Organizing internal and external Safety Audits and implementing CAPA
