Position: Head Chef About Us: We are a newly established restaurant in the vibrant and scenic state of Goa, dedicated to providing an exceptional culinary experience to our guests. Our menu combines local Continental/Chinese/Parsi flavors with innovative techniques to create a unique dining experience. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and help us achieve our vision of culinary excellence. Job Summary: The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, creating and executing a diverse menu, managing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, excellent leadership skills, and a creative approach to food preparation. *Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Menu Development and Planning:** - Develop and design a creative, diverse, and seasonal menu that reflects the restaurants concept. - Incorporate new flavors into the menu. - Regularly update the menu based on seasonal availability and customer preferences. 2. Kitchen Operations Management: - Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. - Manage and train kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants. - Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation. - Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage costs effectively. 3. Quality Control: - Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. - Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients, dishes, and kitchen equipment. - Implement and enforce food safety and hygiene standards. 4. **Cost Management:** - Monitor food costs and manage budget effectively. - Develop cost-effective recipes and manage portion control. - Minimize waste and optimize kitchen resources. 5. **Collaboration and Communication:** - Work closely with restaurant management and front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience. - Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality ingredients. - Foster a positive and collaborative work environment in the kitchen. 6. **Innovation and Creativity:** - Stay updated with culinary trends and bring innovative ideas to the kitchen. - Experiment with new recipes, techniques, and presentations to keep the menu fresh and exciting. *Qualifications:** - Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-end restaurant. - Culinary degree or equivalent professional training. - Strong knowledge of Continental/Chinese/Parsi cuisine and local ingredients. - Excellent leadership and management skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Creativity and passion for food.
