Job Description
The Geotechnical Estimator will play a key role in preparing cost estimates for geotechnical projects. You must have a thorough understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, construction practices, and project management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in estimating costs for geotechnical investigations and construction. Your responsibilities will include the development and pricing of new projects and opportunities, liaising with existing and new clients, as well as subcontractors and suppliers. You will be required to download, extract, and review project documents for estimation purposes. Identifying and locating items relevant to our Scope of Work, extracting specs and drawings related to our SOW, and understanding requirements based on governing agency regulations such as NYC DOB, PANYNJ, MTA, etc., are essential tasks. Additionally, you will need to prepare proposals and cost estimates based on the requirements and estimated quantities. Creating notes and sketches to demonstrate how costs were calculated for review by the PM/supervisor and reaching out to vendors for necessary equipment while staying updated on new technology in our services are also part of the role. Requirements for this position include strong numerical and technical skills, proficiency in using modern technology and IT packages, with a particular emphasis on Excel. Beneficial experience in Geotechnical, Monitoring, or Environmental sectors, as well as pricing bids/tenders and familiarity with bid submission sites like Building Connected, Procore, etc., are desirable qualifications for this role.,
