Job Description
General Manager - Calcium Carbide (Operations)
Lead Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Stabilization of Lime & Calcium Carbide and drive operation activities of the section to achieve operation excellence.
Lead the operation activities across the Lime and Calcium Carbide plant and drive to achieve operation excellence.
Ensure operational strategies to achieve production targets of the Plant.
Ensure safe and accident free working environment, Ensure ZERO accident.
Coordination with stakeholders including maintenance, other engineering disciplines, Techno commerical, Licensor, etc
Training & Development of Plant Operation Team to develop their competencies and Sucession plan.
Apprise the Line Management w.r.t issues, risks, bottlenecks and provide forward path to overcome limitations and mitigate risks.
To assist in create, maintain and continuously improve the Plant operational team competencies to achieve the objectives.
Responsible for Annual Plan & Budget of CAPEX and OPEX of the Plant.
Accountable for implementation of Process Safety Management elements and procedures of the Plant w.r.t. operation.
Achieve production plan by ensuring asset reliability and operational flexibility.
Continual improvement and cost optimization by introducing latest innovation and technology.
Achieve targeted short and long term production targets of the Plant with quality specification.
Responsible to maximize profitability through effective utilization of Feedstock, Chemicals, Catalyst etc.
Ensure compliance to statutory requirements.
Benchmark the existing processes and ensure state of the art systems are implemented to be among the top quartile in the Industry.
Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering.
Experiences:
20 plus years of Operation experience in Carbide/Ferro Alloys or Steel Industry
Proven track record in Operation, Plant Turnaround, Planning, Troubleshooting and Team Management.
Should have experience in handling day-to-day plant operations including design load, trouble-shooting, emergency handling, start up and shutdown of units, optimization of utility consumption.
Should have deep understanding of a Petrochemical complex.
Familiarization with various statutory and Environmental norms.
Strong understanding of operations, services, and applications.
