Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable data architectures in the cloud. You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to build cloud-native data solutions that support advanced analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms on GCP

• Develop data lake and data warehouse solutions using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataplex

• Lead the ETL/ELT data pipeline strategy using Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer

• Define and implement best practices for data modeling, schema design, and partitioning/clustering

• Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams to enforce IAM, data encryption, and DLP policies

• Design and support real-time data streaming solutions for time-sensitive data pipelines

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and analysts

• Optimize data solutions for cost, performance, and reliability

• Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance across all data products

• Work cross-functionally with business teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable solutions

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering

• 2+ years working hands-on with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Strong experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer

• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Java for data processing

• Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, data lake architecture, and streaming data

• Experience with data modeling, ETL pipelines, and workflow orchestration

• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security best practices in cloud environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Google Cloud certification: Professional Data Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect

• Experience with Looker, Looker Studio, or other BI tools

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows

• Background in machine learning or experience with Vertex AI a plus

• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance) is a plus
