Job Description
As a Game Designer with 2-3 years of experience in game development, you will be responsible for designing game mechanics, systems, and levels to enhance player engagement. You will collaborate with artists, programmers, and other designers to create engaging and immersive gameplay experiences. It is essential for you to have a strong understanding of game theory, player psychology, and UX/UI principles to succeed in this role. Your key responsibilities will include designing game mechanics, systems, and levels to enhance player engagement. You will create and maintain design documentation, balance gameplay elements for fairness and fun, conduct playtesting sessions, and analyze player behavior and metrics to refine game mechanics. Collaboration with artists, programmers, and narrative designers to ensure cohesive game design is crucial. Additionally, staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor games will be part of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in game design, proficiency in game design tools such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Figma, and Miro, and experience with level design, scripting, or balancing game economies. Strong communication skills, an excellent understanding of gameplay fundamentals, and a passion for game mechanics, accessibility, UI effectiveness, iterative design, and playtesting are highly desirable qualities. A game design degree would be a plus.
