Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to pour and regulate the flow of molten metal into molds and forms to produce ingots or other castings, utilizing ladles or hand-controlled mechanisms. You will be required to move the prepared metal to the pouring area with the assistance of a crane or other moving system. It will be essential to determine and add metal to molds to compensate for shrinkage and collect samples for analysis or instruct workers to do so. In this position, you will need to examine molds to ensure they are clean, smooth, and properly coated. You will also be responsible for positioning equipment such as ladles, pouring nozzles, or crucibles, or signaling to other workers for equipment positioning. Monitoring temperature gauges and confirming them with specifications will be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will be expected to remove solidified metal or slag from pouring nozzles using long bars, as well as determine and perform ladle lining life, ladle lining, and lining repair. Preheating the ladle and preparing it to receive metal will also fall under your responsibilities. It is crucial to adhere to housekeeping procedures and maintain safety precautions while pouring molten metal. This is a full-time position that requires strict adherence to safety protocols and a keen attention to detail throughout the pouring process.,
