Job Title: Facilities Engineer Mechanical Location: Bangalore Experience Required: 815 Years Education: B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (AICTE-recognized) Role Summary: The Facilities Engineer Mechanical will provide mechanical design engineering and technical support for Chevrons Refining and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) assets. The role includes supporting field engineering activities, developing engineering work packages for brownfield projects and maintenance, and ensuring mechanical equipment integrity across site operations. This position is part of the Mechanical Design Engineering Team at the Chevron ENGINE Center. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support for operations, including troubleshooting and minor design modifications. Develop engineering work packages for brownfield projects, turnaround activities, and maintenance scopes. Perform Management of Change (MoC) processes for all mechanical and piping design changes. Support quality inspections, equipment specifications, and piping system checks. Deliver technical support during site-based equipment work (routine, campaign, or turnaround). Participate in PHAs, HAZOPs, and design reviews with cross-discipline teams. Conduct or support fitness-for-service (FFS) assessments per API codes and standards. Assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for mechanical equipment failures or incidents. Identify and mitigate risks related to mechanical equipment, ensuring safe and reliable plant operations. Apply expertise in: Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, marine loading arms, and pressure safety valves Piping layout, stress analysis, material selection, damage mechanisms Static equipment design, procurement, construction, and repair standards Process safety, leak sealing, and industry-standard compliance (e.g., ASME, API) Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (AICTE-recognized). 815 years of experience supporting operations in refineries, LNG plants, or petrochemical facilities. Minimum 3 years of site-based experience in a brownfield project or maintenance support environment. Solid knowledge of mechanical static equipment, piping systems, and engineering standards. Hands-on experience with turnarounds, sustaining capital projects, and field execution support. Strong understanding of piping and mechanical design codes, material specifications, and inspection practices. Ability to manage multi-discipline inputs and project timelines while ensuring safety and quality. Preferred Skills: Experience with clash detection, pipe stress analysis, layout design, and construction planning. Proficiency in engineering documentation, scheduling, and resource planning. Familiarity with tools like Auto PIPE, Caesar II, Navisworks, or similar (optional but advantageous).
