Job Description
Department: Sourcing & Production Experience Required: 7+ years in fabric sourcing, development, and management Education: B.Tech/B.E. (Textile) from SASMIRA, VJTI, or other reputed textile institutes We are looking for an experienced and technically sound Fabric Manager to lead our fabric sourcing and development operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong textile background, preferably from SASMIRA or VJTI, and proven experience in handling fabric development, approvals, vendor management, and cost negotiation in a garment export manufacturing setup. Has prior experience working with garment exporters catering to international (EU/US markets) buyers and is familiar with sustainability standards (GOTS, Oeko-Tex, BCI, etc.) Key Responsibilities: Fabric Sourcing & Development Identify and source suitable fabrics based on buyer requirements (knits, wovens, blends, sustainable fabrics, etc.) Must have strong technical knowledge of textiles, fiber content, weaves, dyeing, printing, and finishing processes Develop new fabrics in line with seasonal trends and buyer mood boards Coordinate lab dips, handlooms, strike-offs, and bulk fabric approvals Vendor Management Build and maintain relationships with domestic and international fabric suppliers Evaluate mills based on quality, lead times, and compliance Production Coordination Ensure timely procurement of fabric in line with production timelines Monitor fabric inspection, shrinkage tests, GSM, and color fastness before approval Resolve any fabric-related quality or delivery issues Cost & Inventory Control Negotiate fabric prices to achieve target FOBs Monitor fabric consumption, wastage, and stock reconciliation Compliance & Documentation Ensure all fabrics meet buyer testing and certification requirements Maintain fabric records and documentation for audits and buyer submissions Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person,
