Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer - Battery Maintenance will be responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle management, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of various battery systems used across our facilities/products. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, battery chemistry (Li-ion, Lead-Acid, Ni-Cad, etc.), power electronics, and safety protocols. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability, efficiency, and longevity of our battery assets, contributing to operational continuity and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:

  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all battery systems, including routine inspections, performance testing, and data analysis.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools (e.g., impedance testers, thermal cameras, data loggers) to assess battery health and predict potential failures.
  • Establish and maintain detailed maintenance records, logs, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair:

  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and battery-related issues, including faults in battery management systems (BMS), charging systems, and associated power electronics.
  • Perform hands-on repairs, replacements, and upgrades of battery cells, modules, packs, and related components.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, controls) to address integrated system issues.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

  • Monitor battery performance parameters (voltage, current, temperature, state of charge, state of health) and analyze trends.
  • Identify opportunities for battery system optimization to improve efficiency, extend lifespan, and reduce operational costs.
  • Implement strategies for charge/discharge cycle management and thermal management.
