Job Summary

Responsible for preparing detailed mechanical drawings, layouts, and schematics based on project specifications and requirements. They will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other technical personnel to ensure the accurate development of technical documentation for mechanical systems in EPC projects.

Drafting Design

Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and layouts for equipment, systems, and structures.

Convert rough sketches and engineering concepts into technical drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).

Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and project specifications.

Assist in creating and maintaining a design database for documentation and version control.

Collaboration Coordination

Work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to ensure accuracy in designs.

Participate in design review meetings and contribute to identifying potential design issues.

Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Electrical, Civil) to integrate multidisciplinary designs effectively.

Quality Compliance

Ensure drawings and designs adhere to applicable codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Perform revisions and modifications to designs as required by project feedback.

Conduct quality checks to ensure that all drawings are complete, accurate, and consistent with the projects objectives.

Project Support

Prepare as-built drawings and support the commissioning and installation process.

Provide technical support for construction teams during the installation of mechanical systems.

Update drawings and designs as needed to reflect changes on-site.

Documentation Reporting

Maintain accurate records of design changes and revisions.

Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of ongoing projects.

Section IV:DELIVER KEY OUTPUTS / RESULTSFROM THE ROLE

Measurable Deliverables

Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Draughtsman in an EPC environment or related industry.

Experience in mechanical drafting and design for industrial, construction, or manufacturing projects.

Familiarity with mechanical systems, equipment, and installations.

Qualifications

Diploma/ITI In Drafting/Mechanical

Technical Skills

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.

Understanding of mechanical systems, piping layouts, HVAC systems, and machinery.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience levels required to execute this role

E.g. 5+ yrs of experience as a senior Engineer in infrastructure company
