Job Description
As a Designer at nVent, you will be part of a dynamic global organization that is committed to ensuring a more secure world through innovative electrical solutions. You will have the opportunity to join a high-growth R&D Engineering team focused on developing our extensive Data Solutions product line. Your role will involve creating 3D models, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and other documentation to define products for manufacture and ensure specifications are met. You will work on projects with significant scope and complexity, requiring minimal supervision. Your responsibilities will include researching specifications, identifying purchased components, managing small to large-scale projects independently, and assisting in the build of prototypes and pilot builds. You will also be involved in developing engineering, drafting, and release standards, performing tolerance stack analysis, participating in the product development process, and preparing Engineering Change Order (ECO) documentation. To be successful in this role, you should have a two-year technical degree in drafting or design, along with at least 3 years of mechanical experience in drafting/design. Proficiency in using SolidWorks is essential, as well as knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes. Experience with ENOVIA PLM system and JD Edwards would be advantageous. Additionally, knowledge of brazing/welding, tubing and manifold designs, and plastic part design will be beneficial.
