Job Description

1. Design and Drafting

  • Create detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD for machining and inspection.

  • Develop 3D models using AutoCAD / SolidWorks for visualization, simulation, and assembly fit checks.

  • Generate BOM (Bill of Materials) and maintain drawing records.

  • Modify and revise drawings as per design changes or production feedback.

2. Product Development

  • Collaborate with the production and quality teams to design components suitable for CNC machining.

  • Develop jigs, fixtures, and tooling designs to support CNC operations.

3. Manufacturing Support

  • Ensure designs are compatible with CNC processes like turning, milling, drilling, etc.

  • Provide detailed GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) on drawings.

  • Coordinate with the shop floor to resolve design or machining issues.

  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and machining tolerances.

4. Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure design files conform to ISO/ASME standards or company-specific quality norms.

  • Maintain revision control of drawings and manage version history.

5. Project Coordination

  • Work with cross-functional teams like production, purchase, and quality.

  • Attend project meetings and communicate design progress or issues.

  • Provide technical support during customer visits or audits.

6. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain organized records of drawings, part files, and change notes.

  • Generate documentation for design review, manufacturing approval, and internal audits.

7. Software and Technical Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD (2D detailing) and SolidWorks (3D modeling and assemblies).

  • Understand machining parameters, tolerances, materials, and finishing processes.
