About Cyient

Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer with experience in Li-Ion Battery Pack design, development, and testing, particularly in an automotive background, your responsibilities will include analyzing customer requirements, product standards, and preparing detailed mechanical requirement specifications. You will be tasked with designing various components for Battery pack assembly such as plastic enclosures, sheet metal brackets, Die-cast parts, Busbars, and Insulation sheets using SolidWorks. Estimation of effort, planning for Mechanical design and development, and coordinating with the Circuit team for design layout of electrical components will be essential aspects of your role. In addition, you will be expected to perform design calculations including clearance-creepage, stack-up analysis, thermal calculations, and more. Applying Design For Manufacturing and Design For Assembly guidelines, strategizing for required analysis, and analyzing design risks through FMEA methodology will be crucial. You will also be responsible for preparing manufacturing drawings, conducting tolerance stack-up studies, creating test plans, test cases, and conducting testing of battery components to ensure they meet the required standards. To excel in this role, you should have experience in executing Automotive projects following process standards like IATF16949, completing products from Requirements to mass production, expertise in SolidWorks CAD Software, and knowledge of simulation software. Your skillset should also include experience in plastic, sheet metal, Busbar, sealing design, and Die-casting, as well as exposure to thermal cooling design techniques, material selection, sealing design techniques based on Ingress protection (IP) ratings, GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up studies, design/product validation testing, and manufacturing techniques like injection molding, stamping, and machining. Knowledge of automotive & Li-Ion Battery test and regulatory standards such as ISO, IEC, UN will be beneficial for this role.,
