Job Description

Deputy General Manager - Mechanical

 

We have an opening for Deputy General Manager (DGM) - Mechanical

 

To be successful as a DGM of Mechanical, you should have prior organisational leadership

experience, be able to collaborate with team members, and be a strategic problem-solver.

Ultimately, a top-notch DGM should demonstrate excellent communication skills, an ability to

connect with other engineers and plant technicians, and have a solid foundation in all aspects of

mechanical engineering

 

Responsibilities

 

Oversee the entire mechanical engineering operations and maintenance, repairs, and overhaul

(MRO) works from Limestone Crusher to Packing Plant

Plan, organize and schedule mechanical maintenance to ensure smooth functioning of industrial

equipment, machinery, and overall plant

Operate computerized maintenance system through SAP ERP and ensure mechanical information is

recorded properly for future reference

Foster a safe and healthy occupational environment where safety precautions are followed at all

times

Make sure all machinery is set up and installed correctly while paying attention to occupational

safety of everyone involved

Liaise between engineers and other technicians at unit and ensure the total team gives their best

efforts by providing purpose, direction, and motivation

Identify the right contractors for executing mechanicals works within time and within budget

Proactively identify, analyse, and monitor recurring mechanical issues so that they can be resolved

on time

Prepare and present progress updates to management executives and other relevant stakeholders

on a regular basis

Recommend technological developments and improvements in efficiency.

 

Requirements

 

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters is preferred

15-30 years of experience in the Cement Manufacturing industry

Frontline experience in a large, state-of-the-art cement plant is preferred

 

Experience in preventive maintenance

Experience in installation & operation of Vertical Mills and Roller Press (polycom) with a deep

knowledge of process systems

Knowledge of audit and inventory controls, and how they can add value to and improve an

organizations operations

Working knowledge of SAP ERP is preferred

Knowledge of safety best practices, tools, techniques, programs

Strong people-management and interpersonal skills

Ability to motivate and direct people from varied backgrounds towards achievement of

departmental and organizational goals

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
