Job Description

Job Summary:


The Department Manager is responsible for leading and managing a specific section or
department within the retail store. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations, drives
sales targets, maintains visual merchandising standards, and delivers a superior customer
experience.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales & Customer Service.

  • Achieve departmental sales and growth targets.
  • Guide the sales team to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Handle customer queries and resolve issues promptly.

Team Management.

  • Supervise and motivate floor staff, including Sales Associates and Cashiers.
  • Schedule shifts and manage staff attendance.
  • Provide on-the-job training and performance feedback.

Visual Merchandising & Store Presentation.

  • Ensure the department is well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing.
  • Implement and maintain company-approved VM guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the VM team for regular updates and seasonal displays.

Inventory & Stock Management.

  • Monitor stock levels and manage inventory control.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of merchandise.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and coordinate with the backend team for inward/outward movement.

Reporting & Compliance.

  • Prepare and share daily/weekly sales reports with the Store Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and hygiene protocols.
  • Minimize shrinkage and theft through vigilance and adherence to SOPs.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 12 th Pass / Graduate in any discipline (preferably with a focus on Retail Management or Fashion).
  • 35 years of experience in fashion or lifestyle retail operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of sales metrics, inventory, and visual merchandising.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
