Job Description
As a Data Steward, you will be responsible for assessing and monitoring the quality of data needed to support key business processes, and for the execution of processes to improve that data quality to meet defined standards and drive business outcomes. You will work closely with the Senior Data Steward and business stakeholders to define specific goals, approaches, and deliverables for stewardship and quality initiatives in specific data domains. Your tasks will include performing hands-on stewardship tasks to assess, cleanse, normalize, and conform data to meet business requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing data quality measurement and remediation processes in the WESCO toolset. You will propose standards and metrics for data quality based on data analysis and requirements captured from business users. Analyzing data to identify gaps in quality using defined standards and identifying opportunities for conformation and normalization of data values will also be part of your role. You will create clear and concise documentation of observations and analysis of the current state data, as well as proposed future state. Furthermore, you will develop measures and metrics to show progress in solving issues through stewardship activities and the execution of stewardship programs. Defining and executing processes to monitor data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and privacy, establish consistent data definitions, and monitor overall data quality will also be within your responsibilities. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Technology or Business required - 2 years hands-on experience in data stewardship and validating data as fit for purpose - 2 years of experience in assessing data quality levels, remediating issues, and designing testing rules based on business needs - 2 years of experience in SQL, plus one or more other data analysis methods (Python, R, Java/JQuery, Scala, etc.) - Ability to translate broad business requirements and questions into concrete analysis and answers based on data - 3 years of business analyst or data quality analyst experience preferred - 3 years of experience in an enterprise data quality and catalog tool (Informatica, Collibra, Alation, etc.) preferred If you are a candidate from Los Angeles Unincorporated County, please note that qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act.
