Job Description Data Migration Engineer This is Worldline Technical Skills Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Services: Proficient in GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Google Cloud Dataflow. Knowledge of GCP identity and access management (IAM) for data security during migration. Data Migration Tools: Experience with data migration tools like Google Cloud Transfer Service, Data Transfer Service, and third-party tools (e.g., Talend, Apache NiFi, Informatica). Familiarity with GCP's Database Migration Service (DMS) for migrating databases to GCP. Database Management Systems: Experience with both relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Bigtable, Firestore). Knowledge of data modeling and schema design to optimize migrated data. Data Integration and ETL Processes: Experience designing and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using tools like Google Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, or Cloud Composer. Programming and Scripting Languages: Proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming data. Familiarity with languages such as Python or Java for developing migration scripts and automating data workflows. Cloud Networking: Understanding of GCP networking concepts (e.g., VPC, subnets, firewall rules) and how they affect data migration architecture. Storage Solutions: Knowledge of Google Cloud Storage and best practices for data transfer, including object storage and lifecycle management. Data Formats and Protocols: Familiarity with various data formats (e.g., CSV, JSON, Avro) and data exchange protocols for effective data import/export. Monitoring and Logging: Experience with GCP's monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Stackdriver) to track data migration progress and troubleshoot issues. Best Practices and Compliance: Understanding of data governance, compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and security best practices related to data migration. Version Control and CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools to manage and automate deployment processes.
