Job Description

As a Mortgage Underwriter at our organization, you will be responsible for managing the mortgage business portfolio in the assigned branch/location. Your primary duties will include reviewing and assessing a wide range of complex loan applications, conducting personal discussions with customers to determine creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with credit/KYC documentation requirements. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain various MIS reports related to portfolio, delinquency, and operations, and collaborate with third parties to achieve optimal outcomes for clients. Your role will also involve critically reviewing credit proposals to identify risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies. You will work closely with the sales team to facilitate quick turnaround times for credit lending proposals, ensuring adherence to legal and documentation norms. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing the credit underwriting function of the branch, monitoring credit exposures, and overseeing the recovery process for delinquent cases. To excel in this position, you should possess a graduate or post-graduate degree, with certifications such as CA or MBA being preferable.
