Job Description
The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit-granting process for a company. This includes the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers. The role also ensures the collection of outstanding accounts receivable and minimizes bad debt risk. Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to ensure effective risk management. Assess creditworthiness of potential customers through credit scoring, financial statement analysis, and external credit checks. Approve or reject credit applications based on company policies and risk tolerance. Monitor and manage the companys accounts receivable portfolio to ensure timely collections. Review and update customer credit limits and terms as needed. Prepare monthly credit and collection reports for management. Work with sales and customer service teams to resolve disputes and maintain good customer relationships. Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies. Manage and mentor the credit control team, setting objectives and monitoring performance.
