You are an experienced Manager Legal (Contract Specialist) responsible for handling contract drafting, review, negotiation, and management within the mall, hotel, residential, and vendor operations at Express Infrastructure Private Limited in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Your expertise in commercial contracts, vendor agreements, retail leasing, and regulatory compliance is crucial for ensuring legally sound, risk-mitigated, and business-aligned contracts. Your main responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and finalizing various agreements such as commercial agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and MoUs. You will also lead negotiations with vendors, tenants, and project partners, while identifying and mitigating contractual risks. It is essential to maintain a contract repository, ensure compliance with contract terms, and collaborate with various teams for contract execution and compliance monitoring. Your role involves providing legal guidance on contract interpretation, disputes, and claims, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant laws. You will assist in dispute resolution and contract enforcement, collaborating with external legal counsel when necessary. The ideal candidate will have an LLB degree (mandatory) and 7-10 years of experience in corporate legal or in-house counsel roles, with exposure to retail leasing, infrastructure, commercial contracts, facility management, or hospitality sectors. Key skills required for this role include strong drafting and negotiation abilities, a deep understanding of contract law, lease agreements, and statutory compliance, excellent communication skills in English, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office and document management systems.
