A Commodity Specialist is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring materials or products for an organization, often focusing on a specific commodity or group of commodities. They play a key role in supply chain management, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards. 

• Sourcing and Procurement: Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and securing favorable pricing and terms for commodities.   
• Supplier Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance, and mitigating potential risks.   
• Market Analysis: Staying informed about market trends, price fluctuations, and industry developments related to their specific commodities.   
• Cost Management: Identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and optimize procurement processes.   
• Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring timely replenishment of materials to avoid disruptions.   
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with other departments, such as engineering, quality, and production, to ensure that sourcing strategies align with overall business goals.
