Job Description
You will be responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, which includes portioning, chopping, and storing food. Your duties will also involve washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. Following recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist will be crucial in your role. Additionally, you will be preparing cold foods and operating various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Testing foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently and monitoring food quality during preparation are essential tasks. Setting up and breaking down your work station, serving food in proper portions, and maintaining cleanliness by washing and disinfecting the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment are part of your responsibilities. Checking and ensuring the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food is also required. You must adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures. In case of maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions, you are expected to report them to your manager. Completing safety training and certifications is mandatory. Keeping your uniform and personal appearance clean and professional, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information, and protecting company assets are essential aspects of your role. Communication with others should be done using clear and professional language. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues, supporting the team to achieve common goals, and addressing the concerns of other employees appropriately are important. Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards is a key part of your job. You should be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Tasks may require reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance is also part of your responsibilities. Performing any other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors is expected. To qualify for this position, you should have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred, and supervisory experience is not required. No specific license or certification is necessary for this role.
