Job Description: Coal Logistics Specialist About The Role We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Coal Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering crucial operational data from power plants and coal mines, and driving improvements in our coal logistics operations. You will be a key player in optimizing our supply chain, ensuring efficient and cost-effective coal delivery. This role requires a proactive individual who can take ownership of their work and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Data Acquisition & Management: Travel extensively to power plants and coal mines to gather accurate and timely operational data related to coal production, transportation, and consumption. Develop and implement efficient data collection methodologies and systems. Ensure data integrity and accuracy through rigorous validation and quality checks. Maintain comprehensive databases and records of collected data. Logistics Optimization: Evaluate and improve coal transportation routes and schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize delays. Monitor and analyze coal inventory levels at power plants and mines to ensure optimal stock management. Collaborate with logistics providers and stakeholders to resolve operational issues and improve service delivery. Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with coal supply and logistics Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with power plant and mine personnel, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders. Communicate findings and operational information effectively through reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and achieve operational goals. Ownership and Initiative: Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Proactively identify and address potential problems and challenges. Demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field 8-10 years of experience in coal logistics, supply chain management, or a related industry. Strong understanding of coal mining and power plant operations. Proven experience in data collection. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel extensively to remote locations.
