Responsibilities and Roles of Head of Sales
The HEAD OF SALES manages all the resources of the sales department and is responsible for taking control of the entire department’s managerial actions likesetting goals and targets, developing strategies, assessing the performance of the
sales team, and aligning sales goals with the company’s profitability goals.
The HEAD OF SALES is critical as He / She ensure “sustainable revenue growth” by increasing sales.
The HEADHead of Sales: The House of Abhinandan LodhaThe Head of Sales will be one of the top-ranked executives of the company and willbe the key driver of the ambition of the company and will be singularly responsiblefor delivery of annual operating plan from a top-line perspective with a strongorientation towards ‘profitable growth’. Will head sales and allied functions anddirects and lead all activities related to generating sales for an organization. Theposition will work very closely with Marketing, Product Management, CRM et al. Hiseveryday responsibilities will include supervising, developing, leading everyday salesstrategies, and delivering sales targets. 1. Leadership roleThe HEAD OF SALES leads the sales department and is responsible for retainingexisting customers, increasing the customer base and sales through marketpenetration strategies, planning advertising campaigns (whenever required), anddelivering new product offerings. He / She also manage all activities involved in sales,operations, customer care, and support system. He / She develops and then assessthe department’s effectiveness, identify errors, and make suitable changes instrategies to reach the targets and goals further, leading to overall profitability, sales,revenue generation, and business targets.
2. Strategic roleThe HEAD OF SALES manages the sales team’s strategy and plays a significant rolein developing the strategy, leading the verticals, sales channels, and services or thecompany. The HEAD OF SALES is responsible to achieve the company’s revenueand profitability targets.
3. Analytical roleThe HEAD OF SALES of House of Abhinandan Lodha (HOABL) takes up ananalytical role in the company when He / She assess and evaluate its effectiveness.He / She analyse business tactics, sales strategies, performance analysis of the salesteams, competitor analysis, and market research. As a HEAD OF SALES, He / Sheare also responsible for setting sales targets, determining sales initiatives’effectiveness, and understanding the need for change. The purpose of all theseanalytical functions is to monitor and forecast sales performance. Their analysisreports, presentations, and recommended strategy based on those analyses areconveyed to the stakeholders. Thus, He / She are also responsible forcommunication between the sales department and other departments and thestakeholders.
Skills and Experience
The HEAD OF SALES must have experience in sales, developing an effective salesstrategy, and leading sales in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.Organizations also recruit HEAD OF SALES, preferably who have worked as salesand advertising directors. We are looking for commendable high performing careerachievers with hard core sales and sales strategy experience from FMCG,Automobile, Retail, Real Estate (top RE firms only) with experience of at least 15 plusyears in these categories and has built businesses from zero base.
