Job Description

Role & responsibilities:-

1.Maintenance Planning & Execution: Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of boiler systems, including pressure parts, soot blowers, APH, ESP, fans, and ducting.Coordinate annual overhauls, shutdown maintenance, and emergency repairs with minimal downtime.

2. Reliability & Performance: Monitor equipment performance and analyze failures; implement corrective actions to improve reliability.Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of recurring failures and execute improvement.

3. Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR), statutory norms. and internal safety standards.Conduct risk assessments, job safety analysis (JSA), and safety audits for the boiler maintenance team.

4. Inventory & Cost Management: Monitor and control maintenance costs, optimize spares and consumables inventory.Liaise with the procurement and stores department for timely availability of materials.

5. Team Coordination & Reporting: Supervise maintenance engineers, technicians, and contract workforce.Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance reports, maintenance history. and KPI dashboards.

6. Coordination & Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with operation, C&I, electrical, and other departments to align maintenance with plant needs.

Engage with OEMs and service contractors for technical support and quality assurance.


Functional Competencies:- 

Strong understanding of boiler pressure parts, IBR codes, and maintenance procedures.

Knowledge of failure analysis, welding techniques, NDT methods, and inspection protocols.

Proficiency in SAP/CMMS for maintenance planning, history logging, and cost tracking.

Familiarity with power plant performance parameters related to boiler efficiency and heat rate.

Capability to manage outages and high-pressure maintenance situations efficiently.
