Job Summary: The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and ensuring the proper functioning of all medical equipment and devices within the healthcare facility. This role involves equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and providing technical support to medical staff to ensure patient safety and efficient clinical operations. Key Roles & Responsibilities:1. Equipment Maintenance & Management: Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment. Conduct routine preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime. Ensure equipment is compliant with safety and regulatory standards. 2. Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Quickly diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions. Provide on-site technical support to doctors, nurses, and technicians. 3. Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain detailed records of equipment service history. Manage biomedical equipment inventory and keep track of warranties and service contracts. 4. Vendor & Procurement Coordination: Coordinate with equipment vendors for procurement, repairs, and spare parts. Assist in selecting new medical devices based on technical specifications. 5. Training & Compliance: Train clinical staff on the proper use and safety protocols of medical devices. Ensure all equipment complies with healthcare regulations and standards. 6. Safety & Quality Control: Monitor equipment performance and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Participate in quality improvement and hospital accreditation processes. Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering or relevant field. 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare or hospital environment (freshers can also apply in some cases). Strong knowledge of medical devices and equipment.
