Job Description
As an Assistant at Marriott International, your primary responsibility will be to assist in identifying and addressing employee and organizational development needs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring effective training programs are in place to achieve desired business results. The training programs will cover various topics such as product knowledge, company philosophy, customer service, and leadership skills. Your duties will include conducting needs assessments, designing and developing training programs, and facilitating the delivery of both custom and corporate training programs. It will be essential for you to measure the effectiveness of training to ensure a return on investment. To qualify for this role, you should hold a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, along with 1 year of experience in the human resources field or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 4-year bachelor's degree in the specified majors with certification as a trainer will also be considered, even if you have no prior work experience. Your core work activities will involve administering employee training programs by promoting and informing employees about all training programs, displaying leadership in guest hospitality, identifying specific behaviors contributing to service excellence, ensuring ongoing training for understanding guest expectations, and using effective training methods for demonstrating guest satisfaction skills. You will also be responsible for evaluating training program effectiveness by monitoring enrollment and attendance, assessing participant progress, reviewing feedback data, measuring the transfer of learning, and incorporating adult learning principles into programs. Additionally, you will be involved in developing training program plans and budgets, identifying performance gaps, working with managers to implement necessary training, aligning programs with business indicators, establishing guidelines for employee expectations, developing specific training for service performance improvement, and driving brand values and philosophy in all training activities. Managing training budgets will also be part of your responsibilities, including assisting in budget development, managing budget alignment with financial goals, controlling departmental expenses, and monitoring expenditures.
