Job Description
As a Scientific Editor at Clarivate, you will be responsible for indexing and coding chemical compounds in patents. Your role will involve extracting pharmaceutical, therapeutic, agrochemical activities, chemical reactions, drug information, and drawing Markush structures from patents. It is essential to achieve target volume deliverables with high efficiency and quality while maintaining in-depth knowledge of structure handling tools and IUPAC nomenclature skills. You will play an active role in the team, staying updated on current trends and new developments in Pharmaceutical and Chemistry areas. Your tasks will include maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of chemistry, including reactions, formulae, catalysts, and additives, along with fulfilling requests from managers and completing tasks based on priority and situation. Collaboration within teams is crucial to carry out responsibilities and be accountable for assigned tasks, ultimately aiming to achieve customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate for this role is a fresher or has less than 2 years of relevant experience, with an educational background in M.Sc Chemistry, M.Sc Biochemistry, B. Pharm, or M. Pharm. Preferred qualifications include proficiency in chemical drawing packages like ISIS Draw, problem-solving skills, good analytical skills, and outstanding communication abilities in English, both written and oral. In summary, as a Junior/Entry level Scientific Editor in the IP Content Editing Team, you will be contributing to delivering value-added scientific information for DWPI (Derwent World Patent Index), a proprietary database for easily searching and identifying pharmaceutical compounds, compositions, and structures covered in patents.
