Job Description

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications on the AS400 platform. Your primary tasks will include writing and enhancing RPG programs to meet business requirements, utilizing SQL for database management and data manipulation, and creating CL programs for batch job processing. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will conduct system analysis, troubleshoot issues in existing applications, and implement data integration solutions between AS400 and other systems. Ensuring quality code through thorough testing and debugging, documenting technical specifications and user guides, and providing constructive feedback during code reviews are essential parts of the job. You will also support production releases, stay updated with AS400 technologies and best practices, and assist in project planning and estimation activities. As part of the responsibilities, mentoring junior developers on AS400 technologies, collaborating with IT support teams for system maintenance and upgrades, and adhering to quality standards in development will be expected from you. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in AS400 development. Proficiency in RPG programming language, experience with SQL databases and querying, knowledge of CL programming and batch job processing, and familiarity with data integration tools and methods are essential qualifications. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, strong analytical and organizational skills, and effective communication skills (both verbal and written) are crucial for success in this position. Experience in Agile development methodologies, knowledge of additional programming languages, adaptability to new technologies, and a commitment to documentation of technical processes are considered advantageous.,
