Job Summary An Architectural Engineer helps create efficient buildings and building systems.Architectural Engineers often work on projects with other professionals, including construction workers and architects. A bachelor's degree and license are typical requirements. Responsibilities and Duties: Lead the design development process for real estate projects, from initial conceptualization to final construction. Create and refine architectural plans, drawings, and specifications, considering project goals, budget, and timelines. Prepare and manage construction documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and regulations. Work closely with clients, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to facilitate project execution. Monitor and control project costs, ensuring projects stay within budget constraints. Implement quality assurance procedures to ensure projects meet design specifications and regulatory requirements. Guide and mentor junior architects and designers, fostering their professional development. Provide technical expertise in areas such as building codes, construction techniques, and material selection. Assist with project planning, scheduling, and monitoring to ensure timely completion. Effectively communicate project information and updates to all stakeholders. Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications Architectural engineers must complete a bachelor's degree program, which generally lasts five years; some 5-year programs also award a master's degree along with the bachelor's upon program completion. Typical architectural engineering coursework in a bachelor's degree program covers construction materials and methods, CAD, design analysis and modern structural systems.
