Job Description
ob Summary:
The AR Caller is responsible for following up on outstanding insurance claims (Accounts Receivable) and ensuring maximum reimbursement by resolving denied or delayed claims. The role involves interacting with insurance companies to check claim status, initiate appeals, and document actions appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze outstanding insurance claims.
Make outbound calls to insurance companies (payers) to resolve denied, underpaid, or pending claims.
Understand and apply CPT, ICD, HCPCS codes and modifiers when necessary.
Follow-up on the claims with insurance companies via phone calls or web portals.
Document all actions taken on the claim in the billing software.
Handle denials and initiate appeals when required.
Work in coordination with billing team to resolve billing issues.
Meet or exceed daily/weekly/monthly productivity and quality targets.
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
