As an Android Software Developer at ParallelDots, you will play a vital role in the mobile product team. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with iOS and Backend engineers to tackle technical challenges effectively. A key task will be migrating the camera feature of the current app from React Native to Android Native. You will also be responsible for creating bridges to enable bidirectional communication between React Native and Android Native modules. Furthermore, you will enhance the camera component to capture and upload high-quality photos to backend APIs. Utilizing Computer Vision Libraries, you will process photos captured on the device and present the results as augmented reality objects. Collaboration with product and engineering teams to deliver customer-centric solutions will be essential. It is imperative to adhere to technical processes, standards, and best practices within the industry and organization. To excel in this role, you should possess strong problem-solving abilities and have at least 3 years of experience in Android Development, with proficiency in Kotlin. A proactive approach and a willingness to take ownership of tasks are crucial. Proficiency in camera libraries in Kotlin, including CameraX and Camera2, is required. A thorough understanding of modern Android architectural components and lifecycle management is essential. Familiarity with REST-based services, AI libraries like tensorflow lite, AR libraries like ARCore, and the ability to write Unit and Automation tests are also desired skills.
