The Operations team at our firm plays a crucial role in managing logistics. As an oil operator, your responsibilities are techno-commercial in nature, requiring you to leverage your technical expertise to understand and optimize the profit and loss (P&L) for the trader. You must stay informed about market trends, gather commercially significant information, and make prompt decisions in consultation with the trader. This dynamic role demands a comprehensive understanding across various domains such as finance, product specifications, operations, international law, industry regulations, shipping, taxation, and customs. Candidates for this position should ideally possess 0-3 years of corporate experience, with an MBA in Operations, Marketing, or Finance. A degree in Engineering would be advantageous. Strong communication skills, quantitative abilities, business acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment are essential qualities for this role. The ideal candidate is someone who exhibits curiosity, initiative, quick thinking, a thirst for continuous learning, action-oriented mindset, organizational skills, logical thinking, and the ability to think creatively to solve daily challenges. Your key responsibilities will include optimizing deal P&L through efficient voyage planning, managing voyages by liaising with vessel owners and port authorities, building and maintaining relationships with international customers and third-party service providers, assisting the chartering team, reviewing contractual terms with clients, understanding pricing and hedging exposure, managing costs, and ensuring compliance with Trafigura's Code of Conduct and internal policies. You will collaborate closely with various teams such as the Trading Desk, Deals Desk, Chartering Desk, Trade Finance Desk, Contracts Desk, customers, and service providers. Reporting to the Oil Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of the operations team driving the success of our logistics operations.,
