Position: Accounts and Finance Head

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Accounts and Finance Head to oversee and manage the complete finance and accounting operations of the company. This role demands an in-depth understanding of all financial operations from day-to-day accounting to regulatory compliance like GST, TDS, Income Tax, Provident Fund (PF), and handling statutory audits. The candidate must ensure financial discipline, timely reporting through MIS, lead the accounts and finance team, and ensure quarterly office visits for audits and reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Accounting and Reporting
  • Manage end-to-end accounting operations: journal entries, ledger scrutiny, bank reconciliations, inter-company transactions, asset register management, and closure of books monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes.
  1. Statutory Compliance
  • GST: Filing monthly/quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9), GST reconciliation with books, handling GST audits and notices.
  • TDS: Timely deduction, deposit, and filing of quarterly TDS returns (24Q, 26Q, etc.).
  • Income Tax: Advance Tax calculations, coordination for annual Income Tax returns, handling tax audits and assessments.
  • Provident Fund (PF): Ensuring monthly PF challans, returns, and compliance with EPFO norms.
  • Maintain all records and documentation for audits and statutory inspections.
  1. Audit and Internal Controls
  • Coordinate and ensure quarterly internal audits  physical office presence for audits is mandatory.
  • Handle external statutory audits and work closely with auditors to finalize annual accounts.
  • Ensure strong internal controls are in place for fraud prevention, and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  1. Accounts Receivable and Payable
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR): ensure timely invoicing, manage credit control, payment collections, and debtor aging reports.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP): process vendor bills, ensure timely payments, and manage cash flow effectively.
  • Develop strategies for reducing debtor days and improving working capital.
  1. MIS Reporting and Analysis

 

  • Design and maintain Monthly MIS reports  sales reports, collection reports, cash flow projections, profitability analysis, etc.
  • Provide actionable insights to management based on financial performance and KPIs.
  • Conduct periodic financial performance reviews with the leadership team.

 

  • Team Leadership and Management
  •  Lead, train, and develop the Accounts and Finance Team ensuring a high-performance culture.
  • Allocate responsibilities within the team for day-to-day activities and monitor their execution.
  • Set KPIs for team members and conduct regular performance reviews.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards (IND-AS/IFRS).
  • Expertise in GST, TDS, Income Tax, and PF compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, SAP, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Well-versed with MIS reporting structures and financial ratio analysis.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, and commitment to deadlines.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualification: CA / MBA Finance / M.Com / ICWA (preferred CA Inter or final dropouts with solid experience are also considered).
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in a mid to senior finance role; must have team management exposure.
