Job Title: Oracle NetSuite Functional Lead

Reports To: VP, Enterprise Applications & Analytics

Department: Information Technology

Overview

You’ll be solving business users’ challenges and turning their needs into goals and solutions through Oracle NetSuite. Working as part of the ERP team you’ll collect information, analyze requirements and solve problems, providing technical and operational support.

The Oracle NetSuite Functional Lead will be focused on co-leading and/or architecting solutions for NetSuite opportunities, co-managing the project solution scope with business users, assisting project management to deliver the solution, and providing the application functionality leadership and direction for business users tasked with implementing the solution.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep overall knowledge of NetSuite and possess a wide understanding of ERP business processes with a focus on Financial Management and a proven track record of delivering full lifecycle ERP implementations. Experience across other Oracle NetSuite areas (inventory management, order management system) would further drive value. The functional lead will also collaborate with other team members to assist in the development of new solutions which solve business challenges facing the business users.

In this role, you will:

  • Take ownership of all the aspects of Financial Management module, working with the business and successfully deliver the solution
  • Configure and showcase Financial Management processes/systems as to how the solution meets client business requirements like Chart of Accounts, Consolidation of Accounts, Financial Reporting per Business unit/department, Exchange Rates, Intercompany Accounting, Ledger Accruals and Allocations, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Cash and Bank Management 
  • Prototype and configure processes in Oracle NetSuite to make sure the system works the way your client needs it to
  • Perform advanced configurations within the Oracle NetSuite framework
  • Assist with requirement gathering and knowledge transfer sessions; evaluate the client business processes and assist providing the business requirement document
  • In order to ensure end to end business solution be delivered, need to work closely with clients and other team members to define, design and align the business application to the business requirements 
  • Work with the project manager to transform business requirements into a straightforward and technical model, and match processes to application requirements
  • Run workshops with business users, and business leaders to analyze and design solutions, and handle gaps detected during prototyping
  • Work with the technical team to make sure that business users' needs are incorporated into the specifications and functions
  • Create or evaluate a breakdown of businesses processes so that you can identify and link functional and non-functional requirements
  • Documents settings and prepare business users to use the system
  • Perform or assist in testing the solution – functional and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Support testing the proposed system and help to train users

 

 

Your Skills:

  • Functional knowledge on Oracle NetSuite modules, features and integration capabilities
  • Business understanding and requirements analysis
  • Good understanding and use of organizational change management
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies – waterfall and agile
  • Multi-tasking, time management and problem-solving skills
  • You have a passion for learning teamed with good business sense and time management
  • You know how to manage business users’ expectations effectively
  • You’ve got a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field and at least 3 years of relevant experience

 

Your Experience Includes:

  • At least 3+ years of experience implementing and using Oracle NetSuite
  • Good understanding of the Oracle NetSuite platform to deliver results – core financial business processes such as GL, AR, AP, Bank & Cash Management, Reporting
  • Experience managing and working with diverse team members
  • Interface with business users’ project stakeholders, including C-level management and directors, to help elicit business and functional requirements
  • Function as a subject matter expert for application design, feature optimization, availability, scalability, user experience, visualization and data integrity
  • Help develop functional specification designs including definition of functional requirements and business scenarios
  • Help drive the effective transition of requirements to delivery and project managers, ensuring a clear and complete understanding of the requirements for a successful delivery to business users
  • Participate in quality management reviews including designs, prototypes and other stages of project to ensure requirements are fulfilled
  • Engage with project teams to gather assets, best practices and guidance from our business users in an effort to integrate and/or improve our methodologies and end user experience
