Job Description

As a senior level database specialist, you will contribute and develop a distributed data architecture on modern Cloud native database like Yugabyte,Cassandra. The solution will cater to large financial institutions running mission critical applications demanding high availability and resilience across cloud regions. This will be green field deployment of the database for next generation core banking platform

[WHAT YOU WILL DO]

• Participate in Database design, Stress testing.

• Installation, upgrade, management of database

• Consult, design and deliver everything related with databases and data – acquire, maintain, transform, migrate and analyses.

• Troubleshoot database issues, maintain database systems availability and scalability.

• Monitor and optimize database performance and capacity planning.

• Troubleshoot database issues, maintain database systemsavailability and scalability.

• Maintain sound backup and recovery policies and proceduresImplement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).

• Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

• Perform Database Transaction logs, Database Index andstatistics maintenance • Translate user requirements into technical solutions that areperforming at large scale

• Design, develop, test, implement the efficient data models to support business functions Your responsibilities will include:

 • Design technical solution for database architecture for the given user stories and documentation

• Work in close coordination with internal and External stake holders like Development, Test and Implementation teams, partners and with customers

• Be the SPOC for all database related questions raisedby people across the organization and partners

• Independently conduct demos, presentations, workshops for internal audience as well as audience representing banks

• Conduct trainings to the development team on functions andfeatures of the database technology and the application

• Security and Governance aspects of the Database

• Adopt best practices and implement data security, backups and recovery.

 • Adopt best practices and handle data transformation and loading.

• Adopt best practices and create database reports and queries.

 [WHAT YOU’LL NEED]

As a part of the engineering team, you will be driven by desire to engineer real time mission critical applications, a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. As an integral part of the engineering team, you will need the following skills to succeed.

• Experience of min 8 years with Hands-On experience in managing day to day activities with strong understanding of any one database and its design and architecture with best practices on processes and procedures in the industry

• Experience as a DBA either in implementation or product development team at enterprise level

• Proficient in database installation, upgrade, patching, maintenance, security, sysadmin functions and administration.

• Strong analytical and reasoning ability to justify the solution you design and document

• Experience as a Application development using any database.

• Strong communication skills. Should be able to independently explain the requirements and solution to development team and ensure that the solution is as per specifications

• Good understanding of SDLC

• Be a team player and collaborate with members at different level of organization hierarchy Added advantage (if any)

• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Expert in administering an additional database technology such as: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra etc. (having experience on one of the distributed databases would be good.)

• Experience in working with cloud services (with any dominant provider)is preferred. • Experience working with XML and JSON datatype.

• Experience with TCP/IP, Web Servers, Firewalls, SSL etc.

• Experience with data security implementation.

• Aware of concepts of sharding, deployment topology for distributed DBs
